Live birds are weighed on a certified scale at the gate. Dressed weight is roughly 72% of live weight, so a 2 kg live bird finishes at about 1.44 kg on the hook.

Payment & terms

Plain terms, written down before you pay.

We would rather set the rules on a page than argue about them at the gate. These apply to every order, from one bird to a standing wholesale account.

Payment: cash at the farm gate or EFT. For EFT we load once proof of payment reflects.
Deposits: orders above 50 birds need a 50% deposit to reserve stock in a batch.
Accounts: approved wholesale buyers may be invoiced on 30-day terms after three settled orders.
Cancellations: cancel more than 48 hours before collection and the deposit is refunded in full.
Weights: every bird is weighed in front of you. You pay for what the scale says, nothing more.
Prices: reviewed monthly against feed cost. A confirmed quote holds for 7 days.
Live birds: once a live bird leaves the farm it cannot be returned, for biosecurity reasons.
Complaints: report any problem with a dressed order within 24 hours and we replace or refund it.

About these prices. Poultry pricing follows the feed price, and feed follows the maize price. We review this list monthly and publish the new one here on the first working day of the month. If you hold a written quote from us it stays valid for seven days, whatever the list says. For orders above 500 birds, ask for a contract rate instead of the bulk rate.
